Food...Some similarities and differences...

HI GUYS!!!
How are you?

We found a lot of coincidences in our food tastes. There are also, some differences like the time that we devote to eat and some tradicional food.
Another difference is your special food like thanksgiven food or halloween candies and we also realise about the Italian influence in both countries like the pasta, pizza , etc.
Do you have a recipe of your tipical food? anyway, it's great learn about your culture...
See you soon!

Hello friends,
After learning about what you eat and some of your customs, we have to say that eating, especially with friends and family is an important part of your culture. Your meals are more organized as you serve more dishes during an everyday meal, while here we normally have just one. Also, the time you devote to eating your meals and talking with your friends and families is more than what we devote to eating our meals. Normally, we spend maybe a half hour to forty-five minutes for eating our meals then we normally go out with friends and family. Besides the meals during the week, you often have large meals with your family every weekend, while we do not have these. Although we keep in touch with our families, most of them live far away from us to have them over for dinner. It must be fun to see your family every weekend.
In regards to special foods we have during the holidays, every family has a special one. However, some of the typical foods for Halloween include candy corn and caramel apples. For Thanksgiving, some of the foods we have are turkey, potatoes, corn, cranberries. For Christmas, there is no real special food, but every family has their own special recipe. Some of these recipes are for specially prepared chicken or delicious pies. We have learned that in Argentina Thanksgiving and Halloween are not celebrated, and we are curious what holidays do you celebrate besides Christmas?
As for a recipe for a typical food, we really do not have an authentic typical food. Most of the time we eat whatever we are hungry for, but there are some foods everybody does like. The alfredo we mentioned is normally made with noodles from a box, but the sauce can be bought or made. Another typical food we eat is burgers. Here is a simple recipe for you that you can amend to add your own touch to it (a lot of people do that here).
What you need:
1 package of ground beef
1 package of buns
2 heads of onions
1 package of buns

The first thing to do is to mash the ground beef to tenderize it. Then, you form the beef into patties (discs) about 3 to 5 inches round. Before you add them to the grill, chop up your onions and insert them into the beef patties (particularly in the middle). Then place the patties on the grill. Monitor the patties and turn over consistently to ensure the patties cook uniformly. THIS is the crucial part of the process as a burger not cooked right will taste horrible. Depending upon how you like your burger (rare, medium well, or well done), you can measure how far your burgers are done by looking at how “pink” the inside is (pink is rare, a little red is medium well, and brown is well done). After the burgers are ready, remove from the grill and place on a bun. The burger is ready to go. After you have made the burger, you can add condiments to it like lettuce, ketchup, tomatoes, etc. As for the process itself, people often will add a spice (beer, barbecue sauce, etc.) when mashing the beef to give it more flavor. Try adding your own spices to create new varieties. You can check out other burger recipes by just googling burger recipes.
